    I recently found your podcast and really love it. Your funny and informative, and I really enjoy when I sit down to listen. I am a 13 year old gluten-intolerant vegan, and I heard you commenting on how you thought it would be really hard to be a gluten-free youngster. It actually isn’t. After I learned to read labels, became comfortable asking for what I wanted, etc. I settled in, and obviously it feels much better not to eat the gluten! I have been gluten-free for almost 5 years, my mom is also gluten-intolerant.

    I just listened to your Thanksgiving podcast, and remembered a site I saw when you talked about Butterball. Butterball has been documented to be very cruel to the turkeys they raise. Check out ButterballCruelty.com for more info.

    PS – Your gluten-free mozzarella sticks were AWESOME and definitely hit the spot. Once you shared your recipe, they were all I could think about and just had to make them. Next up, buffalo wings!

  3. Your gluten-free podcasts are so great! I’ve been looking everywhere for more and I found this great website thesuperallergycookbook.com. The website was created by a mom with three food allergy kids and she has a great allergen free cookbook! I would recommend to anyone in need of some delicious allergen free recipes!

  5. Coolio! Nice to know that Betty Crocker has other stuff that is GF. Don’t forget to try the GF IKEA stuff I told you about on FB!

    BTW Trader Joe’s has two gluten free hard ciders… ($1 a bottle) I just found this out last weekend. I don’t usually like that kind of stuff but their original was yummy to me. My hubby liked both.

  6. We just went to Pizza Fusion in Orlando on Saturday! We were in town visiting family for Thanksgiving. I thought it was ok. Our crust was burnt so that was a major drawback and I didn’t like that you had to buy a large to get the gf pizza. That doesn’t make any sense. It was a little too thin crust. Their pumpkin gelato was yummy though.

    I totally hear you about feeling left out during the holidays. My in-laws really went out to make me gf food (gf pumpkin roll!), but there’s always something and I get tired of limited choices.

    I’m excited about the Amy’s GF cake!

  7. I wish I’d discovered your podcast sooner! Last week I was in Disney World for a Thanksgiving family gathering, and in true genetic fashion, several of us have been diagnosed with Celiac. We had similar experiences with sit-down dining vs. counter service in the Disney complex [the Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom was great]. Would have loved to try Earl of Sandwich if I’d known about it, but we spent our two non-Disney meals at Chevy’s, a chain Mexican restaurant near Downtown Disney. They have a GF info sheet, and the manager came out to discuss ingredients with us.

  9. I love your podcast and sense of humor – hope you will speak to the inevitable challenge of being a Celiac during the holidays again. Really enjoyed your approach and advice on navigating the dangers of the buffet or potluck meal.

  10. I have given-up on almost all boxed GF products. They always disappoint and are too expensive for me. For yummy pizza, you might try Emeril’s recipe from Plant Green. I make a few changes. The recipe calls for “rice flour” and “white rice flour”. I use brown rice in both places. I par bake the crust for an additional 10-15 minutes (I like nice, crusty pizza). Then, top it. I freeze one par baked shell, so I always have one in the freezer (perfect for my small family of hubby and 2 year old). Don’t ignore the advise to use a plastic baggie or gloves to spread the dough on the pan. MUCH easier. This is super inexpensive once you are stocked on the flours. Oh…and I just mix in my KitchenAid Stand Mixer to speed it along.
