Thanks for the post. Immensely confusing topic, given the contradictory evidence on the web. I think you laid it out well and I agree with the theory that some are more sensitive to trace amounts than others. I also think that some may be giving examples from before they went gluten-free (or before they were free from the effects of gluten on their system). During that time, alcohol of any kind can produce some crazy effects - at least in my experience - everyone remembers Christmas 2007. As I have gone gluten-free, these effects are reducing in magnitude.
Thanks!

Hey just wanted to say this is a great idea for a podcat and you pull it off well. I have celiac disease and it's nice to hear someone else with it too. I've been dealing with this for years.

Plus, I'm a big drinker and you have provided some great info. If you ever do Skype interviews, I'd love to you join for a few minutes.

Rats! I was just about to launch a search to find out if Smirnoff Ice was gf. It's available at Victory Field, home of our minor league Indians. The only beverage I can enjoy at the ball park is bottled water, but I'd seen that Ice was available and hoped "maybe . . "

They sell Budweiser, so I know the Bud truck makes regular stops. RedBridge comes on the same truck. Would it be so hard to order a couple of cases?! I feel a letter-writing campaign coming on!

Hi Maureen,

I enjoyed your podcast about GF happy hour! With regards to the beer section, New Grist has won awards at the Great American Beer Festival, but I'm not sure why. I've tried most of the GF beers out there, and NG has an odd aftertaste. I agree that Bard's Tale is great, as is RedBridge. Also, if you've never had Green's, get your hands on some! You can read my review of it here:

It's superb.

Cheers, Pete
